- Multi-year agreement delivers procurement efficiencies
- Agreement includes desktops, laptops, netbooks and tablets plus a range of Dell’s Managed Services
Dell announced today it has been selected for a multi-year relationship with the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) to supply Desktop Technology Products and Services to the publicly-funded education sector (School Boards, Colleges, Universities) and other Broader Public Sector entities across the province of Ontario.
The agreement includes all Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT-certified) desktops, laptops, netbooks and tablets as well as a range of Dell’s Managed Services including managed deployments, imaging, asset labeling and recovery services. Dell EPEAT-certified products include Dell’s Latitude Series enterprise-class computers.“This agreement offers tremendous benefits to all parties,” says Paul Cooper, country manager, Dell Canada. “Through our relationship with OECM, Ontario’s publicly-funded education sector will enjoy substantial cost savings on many of Dell’s products and services. But of equal importance is the reduction in time and duplication of effort that can be achieved by conducting a single collaborative procurement and having a single agreement in place for 119 of Ontario’s publicly-funded educational institutions. We are pleased to have this new opportunity to provide world-class technology products and services, building on our longstanding relationship with Ontario’s education sector.” “The recent Drummond Report recommends the government of Ontario find more efficient ways of delivering the services Ontarians need and want and to get better value from tax revenues,” says Terry Kyritsis, President and CEO, OECM. “This new agreement delivers on both fronts. By consolidating procurement for desktop technology products and services and contracting with a vendor with a proven track record in this sector, Ontario’s leading educational institutions can purchase the technology they need at a price that Ontario’s tax payers can afford.”The OECM believes the benefits this agreement will bring to its clients confirms the value of OECM’s/Dell’s collaborative partnership in meeting sector needs and long term objectives.
